Welcome 2014!
2013 has come and gone and a brand new year is upon us! I love new beginnings! There is something about feeling like you have a brand new starting point before you that is both exciting and relieving at the same time. I know a lot of people who hate to make new years resolutions because they seem so easily made and so easily broken. However, I am of the opinion that if you don't resolve to change today then you never will. So, I am excited to say that I am resolved to make this year a growing year spiritually, mentally, relationally, and hopefully not physically! I want to be a better wife, a better mother, a better daughter, granddaughter, sister, and Christian. How thankful I am that God's mercies are knew every morning!
Sonya Joy is growing into a beautiful little girl. We used to call her our little monster baby because she cried so much, she growled, and she was so hard to please. Now the only time we call her our monster baby is when we tease her about how fast she's growing. She is so big compared to the little 4 lb baby we took home from the hospital! We haven't been to the doctor for a while, but I'm guessing we've got at least a 9 lb baby on our hands! We're so thankful that she is so healthy.
Speaking of healthy, both Sonya and I welcomed in the new year by catching colds. Sonya was quite the little trouper through her first cold, but she did go back to waking up every three hours. So her sick mommy had a hard time getting enough rest to get better. However, I think other than a runny nose, we are both almost there! And Sonya is sleeping longer than ever now! She goes down about 9:00 to 9:30 and has been sleeping until 7:00! I am a very proud mommy!
We got our family pictures taken in December. It did take two tries, but we were happy to catch some precious smiles from our little girl. She doesn't like Santa yet, especially when Santa is a tall skinny lady. Highly suspect...
I love the one where she's smiling in the gift box. She really was our greatest Christmas gift ever!
I ended up getting my Christmas cards out late, and still have two boxes that I need to ship! I resolve to try to get things done in a more organized and timely manner this year - hopefully!
I love my little family and I am so thankful for them! I am excited to see what this knew year will hold for us!
