Tried With Fire

There are no Heavenly scales weighing our good from our bad.
At the time of salvation our Foundation is laid.
This Foundation is solid, unmoving, unbreakable.
This Foundation is Christ Jesus.
On this Foundation we are left to build.

Our building materials are these: gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, and stubble.
Our goal is not to create a magnificent, perfectly designed structure, but rather to use building materials that are fire proof.
With our actions we build a structure of our own choosing, of material of our own choosing.
Everything done for self and earthly gain are comprised of wood, hay, or stubble.

Everything done in the name of Christ, according to the words of Christ, are comprised of gold, silver, or precious stones.

When we come to the end of life, a torch will be thrown into our structure.
What will remain of your structure?

You may have thought out every detail. No one saw your mistakes or maybe you made few; but if done for the wrong reason, you have simply spent a lifetime carefully compiling kindling.

You may have made many mistakes in the building process. The roof may be crooked - the porch may have no steps - but if you brushed yourself off and picked up the right materials - though men may have scoffed at your efforts - in the ashes, you will find riches.

What will remain of your reward?

The foundation of your faith will not have been changed in the fire.
He is Faithful and True.

But in Heaven there will be many Heavenly paupers.
Will you be one of them?

If you have not placed your trust in Christ for salvation, you are building without a foundation and your building materials are limited to that which cannot withstand the fire. Please don’t spend a lifetime without trusting in Him. That lifetime will become an eternity.
