Sonya Joy - 10 Months Old

I remember taking Algebra I with Mrs. Holley and thinking, "I will never get this! This doesn't make any sense!" All year I struggled, so needless to say, I was not excited about taking Algebra II the next year with Mrs. Bottom. Not even a little excited.
Imagine my surprise when Algebra II seemed to make so much more sense than Algebra I! Having had the foundation built, it was so much easier to build up the next year. (Mind you, I did not say I was good at math - just that it was starting to make more sense.)

That's how the tenth month of Sonya's life has been. A week or two after she figured out crawling, pulling herself up clicked! Then she figured out that she could pull herself up on things, and use them to walk. While holding on to people's fingers, forget walking, she runs!

What happened in July 2014
- First time watching fireworks! Sonya loved the fireworks. We watched two different shows. One that was far away from us and one that was right above us. She was intrigued both times! It was so much fun to try to see them through her eyes!

Baby Shower for Liam Daniel -

We got to spend some time with cousin Londyn at Liam Daniel's baby shower! It was fun to watch Londyn help her mom open his gifts.

North East Vision Summit -
We went to a pastors conference in New Jersey at the end of July. How something can be so refreshing but so exhausting is hard to explain! Suffice it to say that we had a great time, but were ready to get back on a good schedule once it was over!

Sonya got her first real taste of being left in the nursery. At our church if I let her cry it out, the entire church would know it, so either Grammy Hodge or I are in the nursery. At Solid Rock, they told me she cried for about 45 minutes before she resigned herself to playing with the other little ones. Every night was progressively easier for her! It was a blessing to get to sit through several services!

 Other Mile Marks -

We're learning what the word "No" means, and we do not like it.When she knows she is getting into something she's not supposed to and sees me coming, she turns away real quick and kicks her feet, like, "Just playing, Mom. Nothing to see here. Move on."

When she's excited, like when her cousin Londyn came to visit, she kicks her little feet on the hard floor in excitement! It looks painful, but it is pretty cute!

Good news in the weight department! In about a month and a half Sonya went from 12lbs 14oz to 15Lbs even! This was exciting news for her worried mommy! One more wonderful month to be thankful for! We are blessed!
