Almost One Whole Year!!!

I can not tell you how much fun I'm having getting ready for our little girl! I could... But you'd get bored very quickly. Between getting her room ready to paint, making a sign for her wall, and shopping way more than I should... Let's just say, it's been fun! But today I want to brag on my man.

We will be celebrating our 1st anniversary on the 10th of August, and although we don't tend to make too big a deal about special days, I know that just thinking about having spent a whole year Matthew makes me smile. We always tease each other because we took a compatibility test in marriage counseling that revealed we were 80% compatible. At first I looked at that score and thought, that's a C! C's are not acceptable! However, Grandpa said that he's been having couples take this test for years and he's never, to his recollection, had a couple score that high! (Pretty depressing scoring system, huh?) So now when we finish each other's sentences or say what the other is thinking - we always look at each other and say, "80%!" It brings to mind the song that Julie Andrews sings in the Sound of Music after the Captain proposes. I may not have done most things right growing up, but I must have done at least one thing right because I got the sweetest man alive! :)

I wanted to share my anniversary gift to him, because I was pleased with how it turned out, and because it's mostly pictures, which is a lot more fun than reading long mushy paragraphs about how much I am in love with my man.

So here it goes...

Once upon a time...
There was a girl who headed off to college all alone. She was afraid she would never fit in and never make friends. But her fears grew greater when, from afar, she saw the strongest, handsomest, sweetest prince. She knew he would never pay her any mind, and she endeavors to keep him from ever knowing that he had caught her eye.

(Fortunately, my husband is used to my inability to spell!)
I have to skip a page here because it has the baby's name on it, and that is still a secret!

For the best husband ever and soon to be best dad!

We know we haven't done everything right. We do not have a perfect marriage, and we will not be perfect parents, but I praise God for my husband. He is everying I could ever ask for! I pray that God will grant us many more years together!
