Craft #2 = Complete!
While looking up ideas for baby rooms, I decided quickly that I wanted to put our little girl's name on the wall. There really are so many cute ways to do it too! I first looked to see how much it would cost me to have one made... It was not cheap... Even just to buy letters painted already was pretty pricy, so I started to look up ways to do it myself.
I found my letters at Walmart for $1.55 a piece. I found the paint at Walmart as well for .55 cents a bottle! I knew I had to buy low so if I messed up I would be too upset. My last two Walmart purchases were a bottle of Elmer's wood craft glue and a $5.00 book of pretty scrap booking paper. All in all I spent about $25 and I knew I wasn't done spending yet either! I kept thinking, "Why didn't I just buy this online?" But it was too late to turn back!

My painting complete, I still had to find picture frames - my chosen method for displaying them. Five by seven frames fit all but the O's. But that was a job for another day!
Why Sonya Joy?
Matthew and I chose the name Sonya Joy because his mother's name is Sonya Johanna. We both agreed immediately that we would be proud to name our little girl after his sweet mother.
She's a beautiful, caring, Godly lady who did her best to raise her children to love, serve, and fear God. We're proud to call her mom! She fights MS without complaint, and she is a fine example of what a Godly wife, mother, and grandmother should be! We love her to pieces!
Matt's parents were out of town for 4 days, so my goal was to finish the sign before they got back! (Matt and I couldn't wait because we are so bad at keeping secrets!)
Two days after painting my letters, I went to a doctor's appointment for the babies checkup. Although the doctor has some minor concerns, she said baby Sonya is a very healthy 2lbs! We have another doctor's appointment in two weeks and another ultrasound in four. Having hit the third trimester, we are getting anxious to meet this little girl!
I didn't want to, but I decided to stop by The Christmas Tree Shop - a great store with everything you could imagine and more! It's always changing, and best of all, they usually have very good prices! I found 8 square frames on clearance. They must have been meant for me because there were only 8 left and that was exactly how many I needed! I spent $16 on the frames, putting me at about $41 for the whole project.
I got to work as soon as I got home, and within an hour an a half I was finished!
I guess it won't look finished until it's on the wall, but I was just happy it was done, and we sure had a fun time surprised Matt's parents! Our biggest task is still before us, since painting has never been my favorite chore... But it will be fun to see it all come together!
Thank You, God, for our little Sonya Joy, and for her sweet grandmother! Help us to be the parents we need to be for this little gift you've entrusted to us!
